Referring for proton therapy

Referring for proton therapy

As of January 2018 we treat patients with proton therapy. In the first three years of operation we will gradually increase the number of patients and the number of treatment indications. By the end of 2020 we expect to have reached full capacity, treating 600 patients per year.

These pages inform you as to which patients can be referred for proton therapy to our department of radiation oncology at the UMCG. Patients can either be referred for a treatment planning comparison study or for proton therapy treatment.

Only a radiation oncologist can refer a patients for proton therapy. If you are a patient, please contact your attending physician.

The pages in the left-hand column provide more specific information about referral for proton therapy.
